VOA-ISLAM.COM – Keputusan sidang itsbat Pemerintah RI yang menetapkan 1 Syawal jatuh pada hari Rabu 31 Agustus 2011, ditertawakan dunia karena nyeleneh dan menyelisihi keputusan negara-negara Arab yang berlebaran hari Selasa 30 Agustus 2011.

Hal itu diungkapkan oleh H. Djoko Susilo, Dutabesar RI untuk Switzerland dan Liechtenstein. Tanpa bermaksud mempersoalkan hasil sidang itsbat penetepan 1 Syawal 1432 H yang dilakukan Kemenag RI, Djoko mengatakan dirinya kesulitan menjawab pertanyaan dari para koleganya, dutabesar negara-negara anggota Organisasi Konferensi Islam (OKI).

“Sekarang kita ditertawaakan dunia. Saya susah sekali menjawab pertanyaan teman-teman sejawat dubes negara-negara OKI. Kita kok nyeleneh sendiri (melaksanakan Idul Fitri pada hari Selasa),” ujar Djoko kepada RMOL, Selasa, (30/8/2011).

Berbeda dengan Indonesia, hampir semua negara di kawasan Eropa dan Timur Tengah menggelar shalat Idul Fitri pada hari Selasa. Umumnya mereka menggunakan metode hisab atau perhitungan yang diperkuat dengan metode rukyat atau pengamatan kemunculan hilal. Penggabungan kedua metode ini membuat perhitungan mengenai awal bulan Syawal menjadi lebih akurat.

Untuk memuaskan si penanya, Djoko mengatakan bahwa penentuan tanggal 1 Syawal itu untuk Indonesia. Adapun masyarakat Indonesia yang berada di luar negeri diminta taat dan patuh pada keputusan Islamic Center setempat. Djoko khawatir banyak pihak di Indonesia yang terjebak pada pendekatan kuno di masa lalu. Sementara di Eropa, masyarakat umumnya percaya pada kemampuan teknologi. Toh, bukankah manusia sudah sampai ke bulan?

Mantan anggota DPR RI dari Partai Amanat Nasional (PAN) itu mengingatkan bahwa Islam terkait erat dengan iman, ilmu dan amal. Islam adalah agama yang mengagungkan ilmu pengetahuan sebagai bagian dari keyakinan akan ketauhidan Tuhan Yang Maha Kuasa.

“Jadi kalau sekarang sudah ada teknologi tinggi mestinya soal mengintip hilal ya pakai teknologi,” ujarnya lagi.

Di masa depan, Djoko berharap agar pemerintah melalui Kementerian Agama bersikap netral dalam penentuan 1 Syawal ini. Posisi pemerintah idealnya, menurut dia, adalah sebagai fasilitator yang tak perlu ikut campur tangan, apalagi memberikan stempel berupa keputusan.

“Sebaiknya hal seperti ini biar diurus MUI dan ormas Islam saja tanpa dicampuri birokrat. Ndak bagus kesannya,” pungkas Djoko.

Sebagaimana diberitakan voa-islam.com sebelumnya, terjadi perbedaan pendapat dalam penetapan 1 Syawal 1432 Hijriyah di tanah air, setelah Pemerintah dalam sidang itsbatnya menganulir hasil rukyat dan memutuskan Idul Fitri 1 Syawal jatuh pada hari Rabu (31/8/2011).

Tim rukyat Kementerian Agama (Kemenag) di Pantai Kartini Jepara dan Cakung Jakrta Timur, dalam kesakaian di bawah sumpah, menyatakan sudah melihat hilal pada Senin sore (29/8/2011), yang berarti Selasa sudah masuk 1 Syawal.

Hasil pantauan Tim Rukyat itu sesuai dengan pantauan Tim Rukyat di negara-negara Arab. Arab Saudi memastikan Hari Raya Idul Fitri atau 1 Syawal 1432 Hijriah jatuh pada hari Selasa, 30 Agustus 2011, karena pada Senin, (29/8/2011), hilal sudah terlihat.

Setelah Arab Saudi mengumumkan jatuhnya 1 Syawal 1432 Hijriah, negara-negara yang lain pun mengikutinya, di antaranya: Mesir, Uni Emirat Arab, dan Qatar. Beberapa negara tetangga seperti Malaysia, Singapura dan Brunei Darussalam juga berlebaran Selasa.

Sebagian umat Islam di tanah air belebaran Selasa karena mengikuti hasil rukyat –baik rukyat lokal maupun global– dan hisab. Kaum Muslimin yang berlebaran hari Selasa ini berbarengan dengan Arab Saudi dan dunia Arab lainnya. Beberapa kalangan yang berlebaran Selasa antara lain: Muhammadiyah, Dewan Dakwah Islamiyah Indonesia (DDII), Jama'ah Anshorut Tauhid (JAT), Front Pembela Islam (FPI), Majelis Mujahidin Indonesia (MMI), Jum'iyat An-Najat, Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia (HTI), Pesantren Gontor, dan sebagian warga Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) yang mengakui rukyat.

Sementara kalangan yang berlebaran Rabu 31 Agustus 2011 mengikuti keputusan pemerintah, antara lain Nahdlatul Ulama, PERSIS, Ahmadiyah, Lembaga Dakwah Islam Indonesia (LDII), dan lain sebagainya. [ahana/rmo]

berita voa islam cenderung provokatif dan sampah, keputusan MUI dan Depag jika walaupun salah itu sudah menggunakan standar syariat dan ilmu yang ada. Segala bilang yang lebaran rabu itu ahmadiyah dan ldii.
Kalo gak salah yang rukyat di cakung itu FPI tapi ditolak mayoritas peserta sidang isbat, dan voa islam sepertinya berafiliasi kepada FPI yang merasa lebih islami dari yang lain dalam beragama (takabur). Dan lucunya voa islam demennya koar2 berita tentang jihad dan syariat islam tapi ngutip dubes yang bilang bahwa penentuan awal ramadhan dan puasa cukup diurus ormas.
Padahal seperti puasa dan lebaran menyangkut orang banyak dan tidak setiap umat islam di indonesia berafiliasi kepada ormas atau harokah tertentu.
Saya melihat kebencian voa islam terhadap pemerintah membuat mereka secara membabi buta mencela semua produk pemerintah termasuk fatwa agama.

Masalahnya gak sepele dalam memberikan penghakiman karena masalah penentuan awal lebaran banyak faktor yang melatar belakanginya. menurut analisa saya selain perkara masalah syariat dan dalil, ada gengsi di antara ormas dan harokah untuk legowo dan mufakat dalam penentuan awal lebaran. trus legitimasi mui dan depag sebagai partnert dalam menentukan awal lebaran dirasa kurang, karena banyak harokah gak tergabung dalam mui dan depag udah dipandang gak berwibawa dimata mereka.
Anyaway, itulah gambaran umat islam di indonesia seperti buih di lautan.

        Not Seen: Suleman Manjra (MCW member) reported: The moon was not sighted in Barbados yesterday the 29th August. We in Barbados will be completing 30 days of Ramadhan, Inshallah. Eid Ul Fitir will be on Wednesday 31st August.

    Canada:

        Not Seen: Syed Shahid Rashid (MCW member) from Mississauga Ontario reported: Today August 29, 2011, I was not able to sight the moon. The sky was clear but I did not witness any sighting. I also used binoculars. I continued the effort until 8:23 PM. The sunset in my city was at 8:00PM today.

        Not Seen: Rozyur Rahman (MCW member) from Scarborough Ontario reported: On August 29, I spend around 10 minutes after Magrib prayer searching for the crescent moon. With my bare eye I could not see moon - west sky was mostly clear with spots of cloud. Our local Masjid Jamie Abu Bakr Siddiqqie announced Eid to be on 31st of August in accordance with Greater Toronto Area Hilal Committee.

    Chile:

        Seen: Fuad Musa (MCW member) from South Chile reported: Br. Fuad Musa made arrangements with his Sheikh to observe the Hilaal of Eid Ul Fitir 1432 AH on the beach several days before, he reported both himself, the Sheikh and a sister saw the Hilaal on Monday, 29th August, 2011 after sunset from the South of Chile.

        Not Seen: Muhammad Sohail (MCW member) from Iquique reported: We have not seen the hilal in our area on August 29. To observe the hilal we have to drive almost 50 to 60 km form the sea side where in these days (winter in chile) mostly the sky is full of heavy clouds. Where we observ the hilal it is a very high deserst area and the conditions were mostly good. On August 29, to observe the hilal there were six men; we satrted at 19:32 up to 20:10 but there was nothing.

    China:

        Not Seen, but Eid Declared: Dr. Musa·Minhai (MCW member) from Linxia, Gansu Province reported: I and some Imams of Mosque did not sight the hilal- for Shawwal by the naked eye and binocular on Monday, 29 August 2011 at Linxia city in China. There was not cloud at the horizon. Sky is very very clear. But some peoples declared that they sighted the hilal by the naked at other place in Linxia. So Imams of many Mosques have decided the first day of Shawwal is 30 August 2011 (Tuesday).

    Dominican Republic:

        Not Seen: Ahmad Abdul Haqq (MCW member) from Santo Domingo reported: The hilal for Eid al-Fitr & the 1st of Shawwal was not seen in the Dominican Republic. Three (3) Muslims from EID (Entidad Islámica Dominicana/Dominican Islamic Entity) were out looking. Two in the city of Santo Domingo and one in the city of Higüey. The sky was clear with a slight bit of clouds in the East. The hilal was not seen. We add 30 days to blessed Ramadan, alhamdulillah!

        Not Seen: Mohammed Mohsin Khan (MCW member) from Mumbai reported: Today Monday 29 August 2011 / 28 Ramadaan 1432 in India. Here in Mumbai Sunset was at 06:56 pm LT and Moonset was at 06:57 pm LT . So there was only 1 min difference . It was certain that the crescent would not be sighted anywhere in India today . I tried to sight the moon due to the 29th day according to the Ummul Qura calendar but Shawwaal crescent has not been sighted in India.

    Indonesia:

        Not Seen: AR Sugeng Riyadi (MCW member) from Surakarta, Java reported: On Monday, August 29, 2011, New Crescent of Shawwal 1432 AH was NOT SEEN, from any location in Indonesia. There are two reports from Jepara and Cakung that Hilal of Syawwal was SEEN, but the report was rejected??? Religious Affairs Ministry of Indonesia decided that 1 Shawwal 1432 AH will be on Wednesday, August 31, 2011.

    Namibia:

        Not Seen: Ahmed Mohamed Barakah (MCW member) from Windhoek reported: Monday 29th August 2011 the moon was not sighted in Windhoek nor anywhere else in Namibia Therefore Eid will be on Wednesday 31st August 2011

    Netherlands:

        Not Seen: Sheriel Nabie (MCW member) from Amsterdam reported: On Monday, August 29, 2011, New Crescent of Shawwal 1432 AH was NOT SEEN. Therefore Royate Hilal Commitee Netherlands (RHCN) announced that that they will complete 30 days of fasting tomorrow and Eid will be on Wednesday, 31 August 2011 (1 Shawwal 1432 AH) Wassalaam,

    New Zealand:

        Not seen: Sheikh Mohammad Amir, for Hilal Committee of New Zealand reported: On behalf of the Hilal Committee, I wish to inform that the new moon for Shawaal has not been sighted today. Therefore, the Hilal Committee would like to announce that we will complete 30 days of fasting tomorrow and Eid will be observed all over New Zealand on Wednesday, 31st August 2011.

    Nigeria:

        Not Seen: Muhammed Yasin Qamardeen (MCW member) from Abuja, FCT, Nigeria reported: On Monday, August 29, though the western horizon is partially clear except for the North-western side where the Sun set. As at the time of sunset time 06:41pm LT, the sky look ok but eventually the cloud accumulate on the North-west of Sun Spot eventually cover the south-west of where the "crescent" should be. Likewise from other report across Nigeria from Reliable and experience people it was Negative (No crescent was visible).

    Panama:

        Not Seen: Saleh Bhai Bhattay (MCW member) from Panama City reported: In Panama City the moon was not seen on Monday 8/29/2011.

    Philippines:

        Eid declared: Dr. Mansoor Limba (MCW member) from Cotabato City reported: On August 29 ‘Id al-Fitr was declared amidst cloudy weather and occasional rain shower, Cotabato City-based Darul Ifta declared tomorrow (Tuesday/August 30, 2011) as ‘Id al-Fitr.

    South Africa:

        Not Seen (Clouds): Ammar Tahir (MCW member) from Cape Town reported: Today, Monday 29th August 2011, I, Ammar Tahir, together with 3 other Muslim brothers have gone in front of the Mouille Point lighthouse facing the Atlantic Ocean in Cape Town South Africa at Maghrib time. We used a 60X magnification telescope and also a Canon 400 mm lense to locate the Shawaal crescent on the horizon. We observed that the sun fully set at 626pm as per your calculation. However we were not able to sight the new Shawaal Hilaal due to the cloudy conditions on the horizon. We stayed at the location until 1904 pm but the cloudy conditions continued to cover the horizon. The Islamic authority of South Africa has therefore declared that 1st Shawaal to be on Wednesday 31st August 2011.

        Not Seen: Rashid Motala (MCW member) from Durban reported: The United Ulama Council of South Africa have declared Ramadaan 30 days, the Hilaal not having been sighted on August 29 anywhere in the country. Eid-ul-Fitr will be Wednesday.

    Tanzania:

        Not Seen: Hamza Rijal (MCW member) from Tiny Island of Zanzibar reported: On August 29, in tiny island of Zanzibar we have failed to observed for the month of Shawal as result we complete 30 days for the month of Ramadhan . Eid Fitri will be on Wednesday 31 August 2011.

    Turkey:

        Not Seen (but Officially announced): Muhammed Cevad Turan from Istanbul reported: On August 29, Shawwal Crescent is not sighted in Istanbul, Turkey as expected. However Turkish Religious Affairs Office officially declareted that 30th of August is 1st of Shawwal (Eid-fitr) according to calculations. Now it is 21:25 and we still waiting for South America's reports to declare Eid-fitr.

    UK:

        Not Seen: Qamar Uddin (MCW member) from York reported: On Monday 29 August 2011 (29 Ramadan 1432 AH) many people from throughout UK have attempted to sight the crescent moon (Hilal) of Shawwal after sunset. The York group of observers included Maulana Hasib Mayet, Maulana Imran Lunat, Vasiullah Bodiyat and Yahya Tai from Batley, plus myself. None of the other groups were able to sight the Hilal, as most places were cloudy. We have not received any verified/confirmed sighting reports from any countries east of UK/Morocco either. There was a slight possibility of sighting in South Africa but the United Ulama Board of South Africa have declared negative sighting. Therefore, the Wifaq/Batley Ulama have decided that the month of Ramadan 1432 AH will complete 30 days and Eid ul Fitr will be on Wednesday 31 August 2011.

        Not Seen: Y. A. Miftahi from London reported: Muslims in UK will celebrate Eid on Tuesday 30th August 2011. No credible moonsighting reports were received in the UK and therefore news from Saudi Arabia of moon sighting have been accepted by Great Britain’s Central Moonsighting Committee.

    USA:

        Not Seen: Javad Torabinejad (MCW member) from Blacksburg VA reported: This evening (Monday, August 29, 2011), the crescent moon of Shavvwal was not sighted in Blacksburg, VA. I arrived at my sighting location about 7:30 pm EDT (sunset: 7:55; actual 7:50) and started scanning the expected area for the crescent, using a couple of pairs of binoculars (10X50 and 7X50). I stayed there till 7:55 pm (moonset: 7:59 pm). The western horizon was partly cloudy. At 7:35 pm, the temperature, dew point, relative humidity, and pressure were 73.4 F, 62.6 F, 69%, and 30.03 in, respectively.

        Not Seen: Muzzammil Dadabhoy (MCW member) from Huntington Beach CA reported: On Monday, Aug 29, it was very cloudy, foggy, and much overcast; No visibility whatsoever.         Not Seen: Mahfuz Rahman, (MCW member) from Atlanta GA reported: On Monday, Aug 29, 2011, I could not see the moon in Atlanta, GA, USA. I tried to look from 8:00pm to 8:15pm, but could not see the moon. We were four people. There were patches of clouds but the sky was mostly clear.

        Not Seen: Mohammed Yahya Shaikh (MCW member) from Anaheim CA reported: The moon for shawaal was not sighted in Huntington Beach, Manhattan Beach, Playa Del Rey and Rosemead CA on August 29th 2011. The lower horizon where the moon was most likely to be seen was excessively hazy.

        Not Seen: Temoor Shouib from Chicago IL reported: There were no sightings in North America. Tomorrow, Tuesday, August 30th will be Ramadan 30th. Eid-ul-Fitr will be on Wednesday, August 31st.

    Australia:

        Seen: Dr. Shabbir Ahmed (MCW member) Imam of Rooty Hill Mosque Sydney, NSW reported: On August 30, the Hilaal of SHAWWAAL 1432 has been sighted in Sydney, Newcastle and Canberra. In each place more than 10 people have seen the moon. Therefore, the Hilaal Committee and Majlisul Ulamaa’ of Australia have declared that the month of SHAWWAAL 1432 will commence from Wednesday, 31st of August 2011.

        Seen: Engr Manzoor A Mian (MCW member) from Melbourne, VIC reported: Melbourne and Sydney was cloudy this evening 30th Aug 2011. We were unable to sight moon but Shawwal cresent was sighted in NSW City New Castle. Therefore First Shawwal in Autralia will be on 31st August Wednesday. Turkish community has celebrated Eid today Tuesday 30th Aug 2011 but rest of majority will celebrate Eid tomorrow Wednsday.

        Seen: Abbas Aly (MCW member) from Annangrove NSW reported: On August 30, although cloudy, the new crescent was sighted at 6.00PM in Annangrove north west of Sydney by sheikh Idrees-ul Hassan of Imam Hasan Centre. It was also seen in Earlwood and Canberra. EID will be on Wednesday 31st August

        Seen: Habeeb Mohamed-Hussain (MCW member) from Gold Coast, QL reported: Gold Coast and Brisbane was cloudy 30th August 2011 evening. We were unable to sight the moon in Gold Coast but Shawwal new moon sighted other part of Australia. Therefore Council of Imam Queensland have declared Eid tomorrow Wednesday (31 August 2011).

        Seen: Zahid Hafeez (MCW member) from Canberra, ACT reported: Viewing conditions in Adelaide (South Australia) this evening (8/30/2011) was perfect and the hilal for Shawwaal was easily sighted about 20 minutes after sunset. The moon by then was 28 hours old and visible at street level. Unfortunately most of the mosques in Adelaide announced the start of Eid incorrectly 24 hours earlier even though the moon was NOT sighted anywhere in the world—thus causing many to damage their Ramadan by missing the last day of fasting. May Allah help us to become united in following the correct sunnah of naked-eye moon-sighting and to abandon the practice of relying only on sterile calculations devoid of the joy of witnessing a new moon being born.

    Bangladesh:

        Seen: Engr. Azizul Huq (MCW member) from Dhaka reported: The crescent moon of shawwal was seen in many places of Bangladesh. So tomorrow the Country will observe Eid al fiter. But in many places of Bangladesh group of people already observed EID today(30th August) following Saudi Arabia. They have been following Saudi Arabia for more than 100 years.

    Brunei:

        Seen: Dr. Mohammed Hussain Ahmad (MCW member) from Brunei Darussalam reported: On August 30 (Tuesday), the Hilaal of SHAWAL 1432 has been sighted in Brunei. Therefore, the it was officially declared that the month of SHAWAL 1432 will commence from Wednesday, 31st of August 2011

    China:

    India:

        Seen: Abdussubhan Dadan (MCW Member) from Mumbai reported: Mumbai Jamma Masjid Hilal Committee received reports of sighting of the moon after namaz-e-magrib from nearby locations ie Nallasopara, Bhivandi, Aurangabad, Surat, Ahmedadbad, Patna, Delhi, Kolkata, Assam through phone calls and faxes. So Mumbai Jamma Masjid Hilal Committee has declared Eid - ul - Fitr will be Inshaallah on 31st August 2011.

        Seen: Mohammed Mohsin Khan (MCW member) from Mumbai reported: Tuesday 30 August 2011 / 29 Ramadaan 1432 in India. Here in Mumbai Sunset was at 06:55 p.m LT and Moonset was at 07:42 pm LT. So there was 47 mins difference, Sky was cloudy but Crescent has been sighted in Mumbai and in Most Parts of India. Official Moon-Sighting Committee have officially announced that Tuesday 30 August 2011 was 29th Ramadaan 1432 and 1st Shawwaal 1432 will fall on Wednesday 31 August 2011. So Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on 31 August 2011 in India.

        Seen: Iqbalhusen Bokda (MCW member) from Gujrat reported: On August 30, crescent for Shawwal has been sighted in many parts of Gujarat as well of India. Weather was cloudy here in Godhra, so there was no general sighting, only some persons sighted. But there general sighting in nearby towns like Lunawada, Mora, Jhalod. and cities like Ahmedabad, Surat etc. Moon was easily sighted in some other states like Punjab, Bihar and Bengal. Shahi Imam Punjab and Imarate Shariya, Bihar have declared that Eid will be on 31st August.

    Indonesia:

        Not Seen but follow sightings from East (Fiji and Australia): Ahmad I. Adjie (MCW member) from Bandung reported: I and team from Bandung, Indonesia, report that today is Ramadhan 29th for those who follow dating by moonsighting and the Hilal cannot be seen due to heavy clouds on horizon. However, we will follow eastern sightings of Fiji and Australia. Therefore 1st of Shawwal will be tomorrow, 31st August 2011.

        Seen: AR Sugeng Riyadi (MCW member) from Surakarta, Java reported: On Tuesday, 30 August 2011, Hilal of Syawwal 1432 H was SEEN from Surakarta Central Java INDONESIA. The sky was very clear.

    Kenya:

        Not Seen: Mahmood Essa (MCW member) from Mombasa reported: The crescent was not sighted in Kenya on Monday evening. Thus we completed 30 days of Ramadhaan. The cresent was easily observed this Tuesday evening (8/30/2011) and Insha Allah tomorrow Wednesday we will be be celebrating Eid Ul Fitr.

    Kenya:

        Seen: Jaffar Suleiman Mosheh (MCW member) from Mombasa reported: The cresent was witnessed by myself and the whole of Mombasa resting above clouds in the horizon. The cheif Qadhi has announced that Eid ul Fitri will be celebrated tomorow 31st of August 2011. After compleating 30 days of Ramadhan. Some of our brothers in Mombasa followed the Saudi announcement and celebrated Eid today though we did not see the cresent yesterday.

    Kuwait:

        Seen: Hussain Khushaish (MCW member) from Kuwait reported: In Kuwait at Kabad desert on Tuesday August 30, 2011 I could see the crescent by 8" telescope and 20*60 binocular and seen by 11 people with us which means that it was very difficult to be seen by naked eyes

    Lebanon:

        Seen: Dr. Hadi Jaafar (MCW member) reported: This evening I was able to see the moon of the month of Shawwal here in Tyr, Lebanon. I started scanning the partly cloudy western horizon with my 7*50 pair of binoculars at about 7:15 PM. I was able to see the moon very briefly at about 7:25 local time. I was barely able to see it with the "naked eye" ( I wear eye glasses) for a couple of seconds before it disappeared behind the clouds. The lighted portion was extremely thin, with crescent horns pointing between 1 and 5 o'clock. The moon was located at about 258 degrees magnetic azimuth ( as the compass of the binoculars pointed) and it was low at the horizon.

    Madagascer:

        Seen: Shoayb Unia (MCW member) from Majunga reported: Alhamdulillah moon was sighted all over Madagascar today (8/30/2011) and the cressent was from 3 to 7o clock,however some people made Eid today on Tuesday because they claim that a few people saw the moon on Monday and they even gave the Shahadah of their sighting on Tv yesterday.

    Malaysia:

        Seen: Firdaus Mazlan (MCW member) from Johor Bahru reported: On Tuesday, 30th August 2011 M equal to 29 Ramadhan 1432 H, I with my friend (around 50 people) have split up around all place in Malaysia. And, two of our friend (Muhammad Sobri and Dr. Selamat) have seen the new moon with naked eye at Jerteh, Terengganu, Malaysia (05°20' N , 103°08' E) around 7.35 pm. They only saw the moon around 2 to 3 minutes. After that, the moon is hidden by the cloud. All places in West Coast Malaysia were cloudy and rainy. Only East Cost Malaysia had good condition to watch the hilal. However, our Government have announced the first Syawal 1432 H on 30th August 2011 M (Tuesday).

    Mauritius:

        Seen: Goolam Tegally (MCW member) from Port Louis reported: Hilal for Shawwal was sighted in a clear sky this evening Tuesday 30 Aug here in Mauritius. We are therefore celebrating Eid on Wednesday 31st Aug.

    Pakistan:

        Seen: Sultan Alam (MCW member) from Karachi reported: Today (Tuesday 30th August 2011), our some observers sighted the moon and central official moon sighting committee of Pakistan also received many positive reports hence it has been announced officially that Wednesday 31st August 2011 is 1st Shawwal (Eid-ul-fitr) 1432 in Pakistan. Nearly whole Pakistan was cloudy or hazy.

        Not Seen: Dr. Fahim Hashmi (MCW member) from Islamabad reported: Not seen in Islamabad (Pakistan), with naked eyes and binoculars, weather was partially cloudy. Official announcement came based upon sighting evidences from elsewhere in the country for Eid on 31 August 2011.

        Not Seen: Talha Rafiq (MCW member) from Karachi reported: On August 30, 2011. I and my friends tried to see the moon but we were unable to see the moon due to clouds. The Ruet Hilal committee announced that the moon have been sighted in other parts of the country therefore tomorrow will be the Eid ul Fitr in Pakistan.

        Not Seen: Asif Hussain (MCW member) from Hyderabad reported: On Tuesday 30th August 2011, I with my fellows at two different places in Hyderabad, Pakistan, tried to see the moon from sunset 06:48 pm to moonset 07:28 pm. Moon was not seen by us, because it was raining since the time of namaz e asar. But moon has been sighted successfully at numerous places of Pakistan. Government officials declared through television media that hilal has been sighted therefore the 1st of Shawwal 1432 hijri will be on Wednesday 31st August 2011 inshaALLAH.

    Russia:

        Not Seen: Ilham Fandas uly Mukharlyamov (MCW member) from Moscow reported: On Tuesday, Aug 30, 2011,I could not see the moon in Moscow, Russia. Skies were partly cloudy. I tried to look from 7:10pm to 7:55pm (Sunset at 8:30 pm, Moonset about 8:00 pm), but could not see the moon.

    Sri Lanka:

        Seen: Nular Bary (MCW member) from Colombo reported: Today 29th. of Ramadan 1432H (30/08/2011) rainy evening in Colombo the western sky was covered with some black clouds anyway I was able to sport the New Moon of Shawwal 1432 "Mashallah" in between of two dark clouds at 6:42pm our sunset was 6:19pm. and I informed our Hilal committee regarding the sighting. The committee had received several calls from many parts of the Island. Hence the Hilal committee made an official announcement in local media to end the Ramadan Fasting with 29 days and celibrate Eid ul Fitr tomorrow Wednesday 31st August 2011.

    USA:

        Seen 4 hours before sunset: Javad Torabinejad (MCW member) from Blacksburg VA reported: Today (Tuesday, August 30, 2011), I sighted the moon in Blacksburg, VA (Lat: 37° 15' 40" N, Lng: 80° 26' 56" W, and elevation: 646 meter). My first binocular (7X50) sighting was at 3:57 pm EDT followed by naked eye sighting. At 4:15 pm, the temperature, dew point, relative humidity, and pressure were 78.8 F, 60.8 F, 54%, and 30.17 in, respectively. The horns were at 12:30 and 5:00 O'clock (12:30;2:30;5:00). The sky was partly cloudy and hazy.

        Later in the evening, the crescent was spotted at 8:26 pm in a hazy and partly cloudy western horizon (sunset: 7:53 pm EDT; apparent sunset: 7:49 pm). I arrived at my sighting location at 7:32 pm and using the pair of binoculars started scanning the expected location in the clearings. The first sighting was at 8:16 pm when the crescent appeared in an opening; at this time the crescent was about 2-3 degrees above horizon. It soon disappeared behind the clouds only to reappear again and set around 8:27 pm (actual moonset: 8:33 pm EDT). At 8:15 pm, the temperature, dew point temperature, relative humidity, and pressure were 71.6 F, 60.8 F, 69%, and 30.19 in, respectively.

        Seen: Mohammad Majibur Rahman (MCW member) from Houston TX reported: The crescent moon is seen today evening on 30 August, Tuesday. The sky was clear. The Eid ul Fitr in Texas will be held on tommorrow on 31 August, 2011.

        Seen: Muzzammil Dadabhoy (MCW member) from Huntington Beach CA reported: On August 30, Tuesday, Time of Observation: 7:05-8:10 p.m. (Maghrib was 7:21 p.m.) at the highest point overlooking all of Long Beach and surrounding area; it was completely clear without a cloud in the sky. Some haze immediately over the horizon, but Hilaal was quite a bit over horizon/haze. Number of Observers: 2 (one is a qualified Islaamic Scholar) The Sunset was at 7:21 and moonset was 8:11. It was not until the sky got dark and we had prayed Maghrib, did we see the hilaal. We prayed around 7:45, and after concluding our Salaah, we saw the hilaal. At around 8:00, the hilaal was no longer visible to us. It was quite big and curved to the left from what I remember. In other words, it was a concave crescent opening to the left.

Ulama Kaltim Imbau Pemerintah Ikuti Hasil Konferensi OKI

TRIBUNNEWS.COM, BALIKPAPAN - Di tengah penantian kaum Muslimin Indonesia terhadap hasil ru'yatul hilal dan sidang itsbat di Kementerian Agama RI, Senin (29/8/2011), salah seorang ulama Kaltim mengingatkan agar pemerintah bisa memperhatikan hasil konferensi Organisasi Konferensi Islam (OKI) di Turki tahun 1978.

Amir Jama'ah Muslimin (Hizbullah) Kaltim di Balikpapan, Ustadz Adzro'ie 'Abdus Syukur, Senin (29/8/2011), mengingatkan agar para pihak bisa merujuk pada hasil konferensi OKI di Turki pada tahun 1978. Termasuk pemerintah Indonesia yang turut mengirimkan delegasinya.

"Dalam konferensi tersebut, dihasilkan tiga keputusan penting terkait penanggalan Islam.
Pertama, sentral penanggalan Islam adalah Mekkah Al Mukarramah.
Kedua, hasil ru'yatul hilal di suatu negeri berlaku untuk seluruh dunia.
Ketiga, Saudi Arabia wajib menghimpun informasi dari berbagai penjuru dunia dan dilanjutkan menyebarkannya ke seluruh dunia pula," katanya.

Karena itu, prinsip yang harus diperhatikan adalah ru'yatul hilal bersifat global. Artinya, bila di suatu negara telah terlihat hilal, maka penetapan awal bulan baru berlaku pula untuk seluruh dunia.

"Contohnya, bila malam ini kita sudah mendapat informasi Saudi Arabia sudah menetapkan 1 Syawal karena telah terlihat hilal, maka Indonesia harus mengikuti hal tersebut. Karena Indonesia dengan Saudi Arabia hanya berselisih waktu sekitar empat jam, tidak sampai berselisih hari. Bisa jadi hilal belum tampak di Indonesia, namun beberapa jam kemudian sudah tampak di Saudi Arabia," katanya.

Dalil untuk metode ru'yah global adalah Surah Ali Imran ayat 96 yang berbunyi: "Sesungguhnya rumah (ibadah) pertama yang dibangun untuk manusia ialah (Baitullah) yang di Bakkah (Mekkah) yang diberkahi dan menjadi petunjuk bagi seluruh alam".

Ustadz Adzro'ie mengatakan, penanggalan secara global bukanlah hal yang sulit untuk dilaksanakan. "Untuk penanggalan matahari (syamsiyah), telah ada sentral di Grenwich Mean Time (GMT). Semestinya penanggalan bulan (qomariyah) disentralkan di Mekkah Mean Time (MMT)," katanya.

Terkait ormas Islam di Indonesia yang memberlakukan metode hisab dan ru'yatul hilal dalam penetapan awal bulan, Adzro'ie mengatakan keduanya memiliki dalil rujukan tersendiri. Bahkan kedua metode harus saling mendukung.

"Hisab digunakan untuk memperkirakan waktu. Namun untuk memastikannya, digunakan ru'yah. Tanpa hisab, kita bisa keliru dalam menentukan waktu pengamatan. Bisa jadi kita sudah mengamati hilal di hari ke 25. Padahal belum masuk waktu pengamatan yang tepat," katanya.

Meskipun demikian, kedua metode juga harus memperhatikan hasil metode ru'yal global. "Artinya, walaupun di suatu negara sudah ada hasil hisab dan ru'yah, namun negara tersebut harus mencari informasi tentang hasil ru'yah di berbagai negara lain (ru'yah global), khususnya di Saudi Arabia. Bilamana di negara lain sudah tampak hilal, maka harus dilakukan penyesuaian waktu," katanya.

Terkait kemungkinan berbedanya penetapan 1 Syawal 1432 Hijriyah di Indonesia, Adzro'ie menghimbau agar ummat Islam senantiasa berlapang dada dalam memandang masalah yang telah berlangsung lama tersebut. Memperuncing masalah tidak akan menyelesaikan persoalan.

Kemudian, para ulama dan umara perlu mengkaji ulang metode penentuan penanggalan, dan menyatukan visi misinya terkait ru'yah global. "Bila masing-masing negara menentukan penanggalan, bisa jadi terjadi empat hari tanggal 1 Syawal," katanya.

Berikutnya, bilamana kaum Muslimin telah mendapatkan informasi yang akurat tentang hasil ru'yah global, maka dihimbau untuk membatalkan puasanya. Karena berpuasa di 1 Syawal hukumnya haram.

"Sikap kami, walaupun sudah ada hasil hisab, kami masih menunggu hasil ru'yatul hilal di Indonesia dan hasil ru'yah global. Setelah ru'yah di Indonesia, perlu dicermati hasil ru'yah global. Mungkin sudah ada hasilnya sekitar pukul 01.00 malam nanti," katanya.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – Pimpinan Muhamadiyah Jagakarsa, Jakarta Selatan, Sofyan Abdul Halim, bingung terhadap pengumuman pemerintah mengenai pelaksanaan Idul Fitri di negara lain.

Sofyan menyayangkan pengumuman yang menyebutkan bahwa pemerintah Malaysia dan Arab Saudi melaksanakan Idul Fitri pada hari Rabu (31/8). "Kenapa pada Sidang Itsbat semalam pemerintah mengumumkan bahwa negara seperti Arab Saudi dan Malaysia lebaran pada hari Rabu. Padahal negara tersebut melaksanakan lebaran pada hari Selasa. Itu kan sama saja dengan membohongi publik," kata Sofyan, Selasa (30/8).

Seharusnya pemerintah memberikan pengumuman yang benar, jangan menyimpang siurkan berita semacam itu. "Bahkan negara yang sedang berperang pun, Libya, juga merayakan lebaran hari ini. Pemberitaan semacam itu tentu saja tidak diperbolehkan. Namun mengenai perbedaan hari raya di Indonesia, sebenarnya tidak masalah. Kita ambil saja hikmahnya," tambahnya.

Mengenai penetapan Idul Fitri, Muhmmadiyah sejak sebelum masuk bulan Ramadhan memang sudah menentukan tanggal 1 Syawal pada hari Selasa (30/8). "Kami menggunakan hisab (perhitungan) dan wujudul hilal, jadi hingga tanggal 10 Dzulhijjah pun sudah ditetapkan," ujarnya.

Mengenai metode rukyat, Sofyan juga mengkritik alat yang digunakan tak secanggih Malaysia. "Malaysia yang posisi waktunya di belakang Indonesia justru sudah dengan jelas mampu melihat hilal. Namun Indonesia tidak, berarti Indonesia kalah dong alatnya sama Malaysia," sindirnya.

Namun walaupun berbeda pendapat mengenai penetapan 1 Syawal, Sofyan tetap berharap agar perbedaan tersebut tetap menjalinkan ukuwah Islamiyah di antara umat semuanya.

1. kalo maunya pake rukyat, kenapa menolak saksi dibawah sumpah yg sudah liat, tidak peduli hitungan astronomi seperti apa, bukannya sudah syar'i tuh?  :jaim:
2. kalo menganggap hitungan astronomi benar, dengan bilang mustahil hilal bisa dirukyat, knp gak langsung pake hisab wujudul hilal aja? jadinya ndak perlu buang2 duit buat rukyat atau sidang itsbat  ;D

Metode hisab imkanur rukyat menggunakan 'kemungkinan' keterlihatan hilal dlm menetapkan munculnya bulan baru. Oleh sebab itu kesaksian orang yg melihat adanya hilal ditolak sebab MENURUT HISAB, hilal tidak mungkin dilihat walaupun dibantu alat.
 
Ane bilang 'isi' itu karena seolah2 HANYA Indonesia yg menetapkan lebaran tgl 31 Agustus, sehingga patut ditertawakan. Padahal kalo ditinjau dari sisi ilmu falak, justru model Arab Saudi itu yg patut ditertawakan. Wong secara hitungan gak mungkin melihat hilal kok tiba2 ada orang yg bilang bisa melihat hilal?
 
Kalo masih nganggap Indonesia patut ditertawakan, apakah para ahli falak dari luar negeri juga patut ditertawakan? http://www.icoproject.org/article.aspx?id=69

dari nash2 yg saya baca semuanya punya dasar sendiri....walau akhirnya saya mengambil keputusan sendiri...
ketika Rasullullah menerima khabar dari kafilah dari negeri lain yg mengabarkan hilal dan ketika sahabat yg tidak mengikuti hilalnya negeri syam dan tetap menggenapkan 30 hari...

terlepas dari semua polemik diatas...apakah kita mau menuju satu ketetapan tetntunya dg metode dan solusi yg bisa mengarah kesana atau tetap menggunakan metode yg tidak mungkin satu negeri dg lainnya menghasilkan keputusan sama....

Miris juga baca beritanya...  Perlu ada kesepakatan berapa ketinggian derajat hilal yg dipake.. Gmn klo dikalender pas 1 syawal gak usah dimerahin dulu tanggalnya.. Hmmm

yang bisa nyatuin umat hanya seorang khalifah yaitu pemimpin negara khilafah yang menyatukan seluruh negri-negri kaummuslimin. negara nasionalis malah membuat perpecahan di tubuh umat islam apalagi yang nerapkan sistem demokrasi sesat dan menyesatkan makanya hasilnya seperti ini kacau balau. Umat islam hanya boleh memiliki satu pemimpin dalam satu waktu tidak ada boleh dua, tiga, epat bahkan 5o lebih pemimpin umat islam di dunia seperti negara nasionalis saat ini, ingat hadits shahih yang diriwayatkan oleh Bukhari dan Muslim " kalau ada pada satu masa dibai'at dua orang Khalifah Pemimpin umat islam) maka bunuhlah yang terakhir di bai'at". Silahkan mau penggal kepala siapa duluan ??? SBY ??? Raja malaysia??? President Mesir ??? Atau raja Saudi ???
