BTW it's been 4 days I am here in Queensland Aussie. It is fall season. The weather is good 15 deg C in the morning. I've been 'away' from eating rice so far and I am ok. Alhamdulillah.
The only things I need to get used to are food, 'istinja'', sholat, and the culture. Ooops it is not 'only' but many.

Yeah alhamdulillah I ate rice this morning. Finally I could find frozen rice that only need to be cooked 2:30 minutes by microwave. It is rice and vegetable so I just need to put scramble egg or vegie "smoked beef or sausages or bacon".
My wife just informed me that not all of cheese is halal. It depends on the rennet (?). Any one here could explain? Asty? Haze? Oryza?

early fall is best season IMO, so romantic and shady 
I can walk couple of blocks away barely on foot without feeling tired at all,
because I was so excited of the falling leaves, I kicked them softly and smile all the way

cheese, yeah pak dhe some of cheese's rennet comes from pig's enzyme
rennet is an enzyme which produced by mammalian inside their stomach system to digest food,
as of mammalian also include pigs, u have to be very careful

my fast way of getting halal food is find a mosque and ask about where to buy halal foods in town to imam or brothers and sisters there 
Or if I can't find a mosque nearby while I have to decide it right away I will find for kosher logo for dairy products such as cheese, ice cream, milk cream, mayonnaise etc
but not for meat ... kosher logo can't be use for meat, we have a different law in slaughtering animals

if I can't find halal or kosher logo, I can't confirmed it either to the supermarket's staff
I'd rather go safe not to buy it and survive with vegetables and eggs until Allah gives me another certain clues of halal food 

oh ya pak dhe, in canada products of campbell's are certified by ISNA (Islamic Society of North America), also Tate&Lyle products. If I'm not mistaken the products of Campbell's are swanson, prego, v8 so if u somehow find this and see the ISNA certificate so insha Allah it's halal. But I don't know whether the campbell's and T&L products are well certified in australia, just please try to find the halal logo or ISNA certified first before u consume it, okay

oh iya ... australian food ya ...  elle 'n vire insha Allah halal, this is non dairy products too
but please do read the ingredients and confirm it ya pak dhe because it's been quite a while since I visit australia. I'm sure there are lots of new variations on their products which might not certified yet

oh ya I just remember another hints,
do care about carmine/E120, gelatines if one of or both are contained in the ingredients, it's doubtful

gelatines might be from pig's fat, unless strictly confirmed it's from cow, don't pick it

carmine/E120 is an insect derivatives, which might consider disgusting

E120/carmine is usually use for coloring some food so they will appear as reddish colored foods
it made of crushed cochineal scale, some kind of mexican insect 
but the asian's halal committee stated that this substance is halal

well ... it's going to be back to what ur heart says I guess, pak dhe

jazakillah for all the info. Unfortunately Roma (not Rome) the small town I live in is a small town and it is in the dessert (or savanna ?) It's all sand and short grass here. yeah I can find some trees but not many. And so far I haven't seen a moslem here. Just one guy names Asghar. I saw it in his name tag. But I haven't spoken with him yet. And I have no information about mosque nor moslem community here in Roma.

I have no holiday here Haze. Since it is a commuter assignment. I work in several weeks and then go back to Indonesia for another weeks off. The good thing is I have weeks off that I can spend it for many things.
Speaking about fall season I had it in USA and Japan. And yes it was beautiful. The color of the leaves is always amazing...

they're so romantic and magnificently classic  subhanallaah 
and also the texture, it's crunchy like kerupuk putih bulat tukang gado-gado 

ah ya, commuter assignment is with no holiday
but that's okay since u're no longer teens I bet u prefer to spend the holiday with ur lovely wife and cute kiddies rather than to roll over a bunch of dry leaves
