Boleh jadi kamu membenci sesuatu, padahal ia amat baik bagimu,
dan boleh jadi (pula) kamu menyukai sesuatu padahal ia amat buruk bagimu;
Allah mengetahui, sedang kamu tidak mengetahui. (QS. 2:216)

woo.....just knew this tread....

wanna learn too...

especially about the "if"
(you know....yg bagian peng-andaian itu loo.. ;D, sorry, what d'ya call that in english lesson? hehe... %peace%)

talking about conditional sentences, at least we have three types of them. first, what we call as real condition. this real conditional sentence talks about reasonably logic causes and effect.

for example : if you take a taxi, you will be there at 2;30.

it means that under the logical calculation, the taxi will take a certain time that will make the one be there at 2;30.  so it is based on facts and logical calculation. to create such sentence, you will need present simple (verb I) after "if" and you will use "will + infinitive (verb I) in the second phrase.

secondly, we have what i call as unreal condition. this conditional sentence will be based on imagination, or else this conditional sentence is used to daydream or to talk about unreal situation.

for example : if i were SBY i would crash down the systemic corruption  in this country.

it is just imagination. it is not true for i am sby anyway that why i call this conditional sentence as unreal condition/situation. to create this such sentence what you need is just a sentence in past tense ( Verb II) after "if" and you should use "would" , "could" and infinitive (verb I) in the second sentence/phrase.

the last one, i call as unreal past condition. this conditional sentence is used to express that somebody is feeling so sorry for a past happening.

for example : if you had told me before, i would have helped you by lend you some of my money.

it means that in the past  you didn't tell me and i didn't help you and actually i could help you that time but i didn't know that you need a help.

for this such conditional sentence you need "past perfect tense"( had + Verb III)  after "if" and 'would" + present perfect (have + Verb III)  in the second phrase.
Kalo datang tidak bawa damai tapi malah pedang dan pisahkan anak dari bapak, mantu dari mertua, mari berseru: "enyahlah iblis kau sandungan bagi ku"
