I Use Mac to.. I still Use Linux too.... I use Android... it's Linux too.... Linux is so vast... not just DEsktops
As Server Linux is awe some that's why it's still interesting to discuss right?
I only use Mac as my development station (as I develop iOS apps), dual booted to Windows for Windows Phone Devs. Personally, I'm OS-Agnostic.
Android isn't Linux. It uses Linux kernels but not its GNU User Space, well it's like Google's Frankenstein of mutated linux kernel with bionic c runtime and dalvik.
Linux has its own space on servers and now mobile (MeeGo/Harmattan) is really interesting. Currently pondering to this new platforms. But for day-to-day basis, Linux only has place on my EC2 instances on Amazon using Lucid Lynx. I really love debian from beginning. And due to OSX bash is similar to linux bash, I don't need any desktop linux to maintain my servers.
Linux takes a while to make it usable. Fiddling with /etc each time you upgrade isn't fun at all.
As for apt-get, we have macports and homebrew over here for opensource and also App Store is amazing. No need to search in google to get software that you need. Currently waiting for BlankOn WarSi (warung aplikasi) to be live. But the WarSi is still too early at the moment.

I have seen a trends that software developers are now mostly moved away from GPL3 license as it's deemed to restrictive for commercial license. As I have seen in github, the open source developers now choose wether BSD, Apache, or MIT license. Thus, their code can be used on commercial/closed source apps.
I think GPL3 is a form of Stallman's arrogance and therefore, blows the commercial open source devs away.
